The bluff town on the White River
Calico Rock is the most dramatic townsite in the region — a historic Main Street perched on the painted bluffs that named it, looking straight down at the White River. The preserved storefronts and the abandoned "ghost town" of East Calico make it a place people drive to just to walk around.
Trout water runs right past downtown, and the surrounding Izard County hills are farm and river country at prices that surprise people coming from anywhere else.
