Norfork Lake
22,000 acres of deep blue water spilling across Arkansas and Missouri. Less crowded than Bull Shoals, just as clear, even better striper.
Striper capital
Norfork is where the Arkansas state-record striped bass came from. Live shad in 40–80 ft of water from June through August is the move. Local guides will put you on a 25-pounder if you ask nicely.
Lakeside cabins
Norfork has the densest concentration of family-run cabin resorts in the region — most include a slip, a small jon boat, and a fire pit. Many haven't changed in 50 years. That's the point.
Below the dam
The North Fork River below Norfork Dam is one of two world-class tailwaters in the area. Wild browns, native cutthroat trout, and trophy rainbows — all within 20 minutes of downtown Mountain Home.
