Richard Schrei is a classically trained musician who began studying violin at the age of 9. He is a member of the Sound Healers Association and a 2003 Graduate of the Mind/Body/Spirit Professional Training Program offered by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, Washington, DC, and Co-Sponsored by the University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing. Richard is also a Reiki Master-Teacher, and a Certified Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra teacher. His other studies include: musical qigong, Chinese modal music, qigong breathing techniques, Nada Yoga, Sui Zen, and Biosonic Repatterning. His eclectic musical experiences – Classical, New Age, Ambient, Blues, Jazz, Chinese Modal Music, Musical QiGong, Tibetan & Sanskrit Chanting, and Native American – makes him a truly versatile and interesting musician. His music has tremendous depth of feeling and the capacity to touch the innermost places of your mind, body and spirit to bring profound release, healing and relaxation. Richard’s CDs have been purchased in several countries including: Australia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and the Russian Federation (Moscow). Richard also makes wooden flutes using construction methods of the Native American Flute and incorporating the minor pentatonic scale. Most of his flutes are individually tuned to the piece of wood; and usually not tuned to the normal tuning pitch of A=440 Hz. This allows the personality and voice of each piece of wood to be brought out instead of forcing it to a frequency that might not be the best frequency for that particular piece of wood. Making fewer than 50 flutes a year, his flutes are all hand-carved, numbered and signed.
